Brown Middle School

This week we have received information from Hamilton County and TSSAA regarding Fall Sports, and have been given the green light to begin tryouts as early as this Monday, August 3, 2020.

It is important that despite receiving the go-ahead to continue fall sports we must follow Phase 3 rules that have been provided by NFHS. All teams will be practicing social distancing, wearing masks before and after practices, and temperature checks will be required. Parents will also provide a signature stating that the participant is COVID-19 symptom-free prior to practicing.

Remember if you are wanting to participate in any sport's tryouts this year participants must have a current Physical form dated after April 15, 2020. Physicals prior to this date are NOT valid. You may pick up all the required forms in our main office.

Eligibility to Play Sports

Please note that per Hamilton County Athletic Conference Constitution Article IV, Section 1, a student's eligibility to play sports will be as follows:

No student repeating a grade will be eligible for participation in athletics during that school year.

Eligibility to participate in fall sports will be determined solely by the previous year's fourth (4th) nine weeks' grades. The yearly average has nothing to do with fall sports eligibility. Promotion to the next grade is no longer the determining factor in a student's ability to participate in fall sports.

Any student who fails 2 or more courses in a quarter (9 weeks) is ineligible to play any sport for the following quarter (9 weeks).
